Summer is at its best peak now. Kids are still enjoying their vacation times. Busy being lazy, the naughty brats are always upto some mischief with a confidence of getting forgiven for everything during the season. Hours of studying has given innumerable sleepless nights. Time has now arrived to catch up on all those sleep and activities which was recorded under their summer bucket list. Making popsicles at home, gulping tanks of lemonades and sharing countless cups of ice creams.
This is the time when kids feel so much connected with the unexplored side of them that they get all the ideas that gives them a kick. The adrenaline rush experienced while jumping in the pool or the goose bumps they get while they take the first bit of the raw mango drenched in spices. This can be only experienced by kids or by those who have never left their childhood behind.
Summer is the time of scorching sun, burning temperatures and occasional rains to cool the baked soil. It is that part of the year when everyone, especially children look forward to as they have their exams and then the vacations to follow. But having fun in this season can also lead to some health issues like sun burns, dehydration, tan and skin allergies. These have to be taken care of on a regular basis to ensure healthy and pleasurable summer holidays. Few other things which can turn the hot weather to ‘lot more fun’ are:
1. Get out, get going: Summer holidays calls for vacation with family. Get your kids involved; ask their opinion about what kind of places they would like to visit. Keep a low key on the luggage and the baggage. Set out on a fun trip which includes more of personal interaction and less interference of digital gadgets. A stroll in a hill station or a spring sprinkle of the gushy waterfall — summer can’t get any better.
2. Stay cool, stay indoors: One more way to beat the heat is to stay indoors and indulge in some in-house activities like art and craft, learning new languages or playing some interesting board games. Some more cool indoor activities would be to just unwind doing bubbles and having a fun chat with the grandparents, friends or the bum chum cousins.
3. Cool, cooler, coolest activities: Splash pool, swimming and watering the plants. Include some real cool activities which include water. Kids’ unconditional love for water will make them help break the monotony of being cautious about getting drenched as summer is the best time in the whole year for that.
4. Unwind and undress: Time to bury those sweat shirts, pullovers and socks deep under the closet. Take those thin blissful cotton and linens. Sleeveless frocks and shorts with tee would literally make your kids look cool.
5. Take a chill pill: Keep their body cool this summer with some hydrating homemade chillers like smoothies, buttermilk and coolers. Gift them with some summer special fruits like watermelons, melons, grapes and mangoes. Making them drink more water is a challenge??? When will lemon and honey come to good use?
These are few of the good baby and good parent ways to beat the heat. Some of the crazy, notorious ways include getting drenched in the summer rain, splashing in the puddle and racing against wind while cycling and skating. Staying safe and healthy, while having a big share of fun is undoubtedly the best way to spend the vacation. This will help them to get all geared up to the upcoming academic year, start afresh and stay calm to kick start for the next season of studies and assessments.
